Lark ramp Lark ramp
Lark ramp

Replacing the air conditioning unit on the building at the Lark ramp would have taken two cranes, a bulldozer to push the cranes up the steep road, and two days of work for all the personnel involved, so the Center's SAR helicopter (UH-1N Huey BuNo 158284) brought in the new unit instead. LCdr. Byron Dieckman coordinated the operation. The helicopter was flown by LCdr. Chip Lancaster, with Lt(jg). Brent Norman as co-pilot. Crewmen were AO3 John Schatz, AMS3 Mike Clenney, ADAN Chris Trindle, and SSgt. Bill Conners, who represented the U.S. Marine Corps. NWC China Lake, 04 June 1982 Rocketeer photo by Don Cornelius.
